Tulips for Texture Tuesday and a Giveaway!

This past weekend Ken, Anique, Chayton and I drove up north to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Chayton had spent the night before with us and is such a good natured, happy child. If you follow my 365 Days of Gratitude posts you will see I posted a non-texturized version of this photo yesterday.

It was windy and downpouring but the tulips were up and oh so pretty! I really loved the red barn behind the rows and rows of tulips. There are a few more shots from our outing below too.

Layers (from top down):
Daisy - Multiply 50% opacity
Kristin - Screen 52% opacity - Layer mask used with a very soft brush to bring out the color on the barn.
Background photo - Normal 100% opacity

Did you know this is my 100th post? No, really, it is. When I started this blog a little over a year ago, I wasn't sure if I would be able to manage my time and keep up with posting. I haven't always been super regular with my posts but I'm still going. I think that's worth celebrating don't you?

If you've been following my blog, you know I have WAY more craft supplies than I really need. I've put together a combination of some of my surplus supplies for you. A little paper, a little ribbon, a little yarn, a little, fabric, and a few other good things.

If you would like a chance to receive this box of goodies just leave a comment below and I'll announce the winner with next weeks Texture Tuesday post.

Thanks for reading!

  2. Gorgeous. I lived in Seattle 21 years and never went up to see the Tulips in Skagit. It's on my list for sure now. Great job.

    1. I agree! I missed getting my shot of a HUGE field of daffodils which were also pretty cool. Too much rain though and I wasn't brave enough to stay out in it with my camera. Love spring flowers!

  6. I've dreamed of seeing a field of tulips like that, Heather! So beautiful! I've heard of the festivals but have never been near enough to one to go. Hope you were able to bring some of those beauties home to enjoy! And, how exciting ... your 100th post! I'm working on it, but I have a way to go before I reach that milestone! Congratulations to you! Well, I am a bit late for visiting this week ... I've had some issues with my eyes, but hopefully things will improve soon! Now I need to find a photo of celebration for today's entry! You have a wonderful week! :)

    1. Thank you Deborah! I hope you have a wonderful week as well and that your eyes improve. I had to dig into my saved pictures to find a good celebrate picture. A little pathetic really. I guess that means it's time to hold a party of some sort. :-) Need to celebrate just for the sake of celebrating.
