Life Lately

Life has been both quiet and busy around here. It's busy as in the day-to-day activities of work, school (working on another Associate degree), driving Anique to and from rehearsals, errands, and all the rest take up time. But we are blessed in that everyone is healthy, employed, and getting along. I've been hooked (see what I did there?) on crochet projects lately. It all started with blankets and then moved on to scarves, hats (so many hats!), ponchos, and wraps. I have a list going with upcoming projects and can look forward to a sweatshirt, bunny, tee shirt, and a sweater. My goal is to use the yarn in my stash for these items before purchasing any more supplies. The "yarn basket" next to my bed is full. That's a definite sign to finish some projects before re-stocking. With the help of YouTube, I taught myself how to do the basic knit and pearl stitches. Bunny Bits

I admit this photo looks a little creepy. This month I decided I wasn't going to spend any money on craft supplies. No trips to Michael's or Joann's for just one more little thing. My goal is to use up some of the stash of supplies I have already as accumulated. I had most of a skein of Thick & Quick Homespun yarn left in a dark blue. I'm making my very first crocheted animal. The Classic Bunny pattern by 1 Dog Woof is super easy and stitches up fast. Although some of my bunny parts are a little wonky. I've decided this will just make my bunny "charming". All my pieces are ready to assemble. Just need to sew them together and make a nice fluffy bunny tail. I can't wait to share the final product. I'll be taking photos soon of the bunny and wrap I finished last week.

Tulips for Texture Tuesday and a Giveaway!

This past weekend Ken, Anique, Chayton and I drove up north to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Chayton had spent the night before with us and is such a good natured, happy child. If you follow my 365 Days of Gratitude posts you will see I posted a non-texturized version of this photo yesterday. It was windy and downpouring but the tulips were up and oh so pretty! I really loved the red barn behind the rows and rows of tulips. There are a few more shots from our outing below too. When I started this blog a little over a year ago, I wasn't sure if I would be able to manage my time and keep up with posting. I haven't always been super regular with my posts but I'm still going. I think that's worth celebrating
