Tonight I am grateful for having the hot water tank to myself. A hot shower with no interruptions. Now cozy on the couch with a book. Heaven!

Tulips for Texture Tuesday and a Giveaway!

This past weekend Ken, Anique, Chayton and I drove up north to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Chayton had spent the night before with us and is such a good natured, happy child. If you follow my 365 Days of Gratitude posts you will see I posted a non-texturized version of this photo yesterday. It was windy and downpouring but the tulips were up and oh so pretty! I really loved the red barn behind the rows and rows of tulips. There are a few more shots from our outing below too. Quality Question

It's that time again. Time again to answer the Burning Question by Danielle Laporte. (read the previous with a game show host voice) Her latest question for introspection is in relation to quality. She encourages us to address quality in our choices, people and stuff. What in your life do you want to be of the highest quality? Here's my list and several of these I need to work on: relationship with my husband: He often gets the tired left overs at the end of the day, the tears, the frustrations, too much negativity. I need to work on focusing on us, find our common ground and leaving the rest of it at the door. relationship with my children: I need to work on listening, not tuning out to the next chore, the next item on the to-do list. I want to develop more trust and be a safe-place for them to come. relationship with God: Somewhere along the way I pushed this down on the daily priority list. Time for prayer and study got set aside and never picked back up. ...

Soccer Mom

I've been a bit hit or mess with my posting lately. Why is that, you ask? Well, it is summer and I have projects galore to be finished and posted. But ultimately I am a soccer mom and summer is tournament season. Bailey's team has had 4 tournaments in the past 6 weeks. We have traveled up and down through the state and into Oregon. The boys have played hard and faced wins and losses. They have grown together as a team and are playing better and better with each match. Bailey's hair has transitioned from blond and back to brown again. Anique has accompanied us to a few games. She has read a few books on the sidelines and made new friends.
