Party at Mini Mountain

Bailey turned 14 years old on August 31. I'm not sure how he managed to get that old when I'm still only 20. Okay, maybe 25...
To celebrate his birthday, we took and him and his best buddies (Ellie, Michael, Bryan, Riley) to Mini Mountain in Bellevue. Mini Mountain has a climbing wall, batting cage and the biggest draw, indoor skiing and snowboarding.
They all had fun trying out the different activities. Bailey tried snowboarding first and spent a lot of time working on how to get back up after falling. He turned out to have a knack for skiing though.
Afterwards, we picked up Cole and they came back to the house to hang out. They played cops and robbers (a more grown up version of hide & seek) in the neighborhood and ate some pizza before calling it a night.

Play Time

Bailey wanted a chance to practice his accuracy and get some more power on his kicks. We warmed up with a little mini game under the playground shelter before heading down to the field to practice on grass.

Anique (who dressed herself in contrasting black and white patterns) practiced her basketball on one of the hoops on the playground.

Third Grade: Here She Comes

I'm a poor parent as I only got shots of one of my children on the first day of school. Bailey was up dressed and out the door so early I'm going to blame it on the morning. I'm not really a morning person!

But, I managed to get my act together by the time Anique was up and dressed. She was so excited (evidenced by the stream of non-stop chatter).

Purple is her favorite color. Can you tell? She wore the purple flower in her hair, regardless of the outfit, for 3 days in a row. I love this kid!

Lake Day

I'm very behind on processing my pictures. Here is some of the backlog...

There were only a couple of days until school was scheduled to begin and the with the weather still somewhat warm we headed to the lake.

The water was COLD! Or so the kids told me. I stayed nice and dry on the dock with my camera.

There were only a couple of other people there who didn't stay long due to the tempature of the water. Ken started off the swimming with a splash and tossed Bailey in. The kids played and showed off all their water tricks. Bailey enjoys the high jump off the pier while Anique is a water baby and just enjoys floating and practicing her swimming.

Can you spot the creepy image in the mix below? I caught B just before he came up from under the water and the distortion is crazy!

Bouncing Off the Walls

Every so often we need to find a way for the kids to burn off some energy. There's always the park, playing soccer and other various activities but one that we return to every couple of months is the Absolute Air Park.

It's fairly inexpensive and an hour leaves them all mellow and worn out. And usually hungry. They have a ton of fun bouncing, playing dodge ball on the trampolines and trying out their new moves.
